Techniques Archtecture

This project involves the façade refurbishment of a residential building in Voula. The refurbishment embraces a contemporary minimalist aesthetic, bringing a fresh, dynamic identity to the building.

The new façade wraps and folds around the existing cantilevered balconies. It is defined by strong horizontal lines and frames. The interplay of solid and void spaces enhances the visual depth of the structure while providing also privacy and shading.

The refurbishment features a combination of monochromatic materials that underscore the minimalist approach. Smooth white plaster is used for the exterior walls, creating a contrast with darker plaster on the building facades. The monochromatic approach is completed with black details, such as the vertical slatted panels, lighting fixtures, window frames.

The same design will also be found in the new fencing of the building and the new entrance. The entrance twists inside the plot, in order to create a threshold for the user. The black and white palette will be completed here with wood panels for the two doors.
